Hello loves, long time no talk! I’m sorry about the long break but as you guys know we finally bought our first home and I’m so excited to show you guys our progress!!! It’s been three weeks and we have been busting our butts to get it done. I think part of it was my own selfish wants (blogging of course haha) and the other part was that we have been dreaming about this for so long that we just couldn’t wait to make it look how we want. And after many nights of staying up until 2am and then working 8 hours the next day I can proudly say that a good portion of the house is complete…at least the living room and kitchen. And I love it! I have been thinking about this reno since we found out we got the home and I love how it turned out. Let me tell you it was not easy, we definitely added too many projects to the list including refinishing the floors. What a nightmare but I’m so happy we did it. I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak at my living room. Especially my favorite part of the whole house, the fireplace! We still need to add some logs but it makes this space look so dream and cozy. We white washed ours to give it a farmhouse feel. Keep an eye out for a post on how I did it! Also, many more posts will be coming soon including my kitchen reno for under $300!! I really hope you guys like it, enjoy.
Hello loves, I cannot get enough of amazing farmhouse signs! Especially super unique ones like this. I was so excited when I received this package from one of my favorite Etsy shops My Vintage Farmhouse. They were sweet enough to send me two signs (the grocery one I featured last week) and this Farmer’s Market one. It’s seriously the perfect kitchen sign and could make any room look like a southern farmhouse dream. I love how it looks on my kitchen island with my 3 tier tray and I think it will look even better in my new farm kitchen. This sign comes in three sizes and range from $64.95 to $139.95. If you read my previous post about their shop than you know that they take great care of each piece they create and make a product that is amazing quality. Their signs will never peel and are waterproof! Make sure to check out My Vintage Farmhouse and give your own home that rustic or farmhouse feel. Also, use code THECHICGEEK and get 20% off your purchase, enjoy.
Hello loves, I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you guys but I’m from New England. Most people would guess that I was a southern gal from my style but you could say I’m a bit of a farmer wannabe. When I think of my ideal home I dream of open fields with acres of land, shiplap walls and antique pieces everywhere. I’m not saying I actually want to have a farm and own animals but I definitely want my home to feel like a southern oasis (minus all of the hard work) haha. And what’s a good farmhouse without the iconic “farmhouse” sign. I’m not going to lie I do already own some farmer’s market signs but I have been searching for the perfect reclaimed wood farmhouse sign for my kitchen for a while. I was so excited when I received this one from the Etsy shop Rare and Beautiful Treasures Home Decor. Of course I won’t be able to feature it in my new home for a couple of weeks but I just couldn’t wait to show you guys. I love how you can still see the notches and the character of the wood through the paint!! The best part is that it sells for $40 which is an awesome deal compared to similar signs I have seen! They also have a great collection of handmade rustic and farmhouse signs and also do custom orders. Make sure to check out their shop to add some farmhouse style to your own place, enjoy.
Hello loves, over the last few months I have acquired a good size collection of farmhouse and rustic signs. Although there is not much room in my apartment to display all of them I have plans for almost every one in my home. I love dreaming of the perfect space and then finding just the right piece to finish it off and make it exactly what you want. Since I have been searching for a home since September I have been planning and thinking of some amazing areas I would love to create for months now. One of my favorite ideas is to have a super cute entry way with a small bench, some hooks to hang coats on and a home sweet home sign. Of course it took me a little while to find just the right pieces which is why I was so happy when I stumbled upon this awesome distressed sign from the Etsy shop Jester Farms. I think it’s the perfect way to greet our guests at the door! They are another amazing shop who I recently discovered that sells a TON of rustic signs with super cute quotes and phrases. I love that each of their signs are handmade, distressed and framed with different types of reclaimed wood. The best part is that they actually sell pieces are are affordable, I mean seriously inexpensive. They sell some of their smaller signs for $15 and the one above sells for $25!!! How can you go wrong? Click on the read more link for a closer look at this awesome home sweet home sign as well as some of my other favorite inexpensive pieces from their shop (all under $25). Hello loves, I am super excited about this post! I have been in the process of transitioning my decor from rustic to a more bright, white and shabby chic farmhouse look. I think my rustic pieces were perfect for my loft apartment but now that we bought a home I’m dying to finally have white shiplap walls and create a more farmhouse feel. These gorgeous distressed candlesticks were the perfect start to my chic decor collection. I have been on the lookout for an awesome set like this for my fireplace mantle and I fell in love when I saw this one from the Etsy shop Vintage and Restore by K. I just couldn’t wait to show you guys before I finished my home reno so I paired this set with some of my favorite bedroom decor items. I absolutely love how they are solid metal antique pieces that were up cycled and made new again. Since everything in the shop is handmade and restored there are no two items that are alike so I did unfortunately snag the last candlestick set. But do not fret guys, they sell so many more amazing chalk painted and distressed furniture pieces and home decor accents. Check out Vintage and Restore by K for yourself to add some shabby chic style to your home, enjoy.
Hello loves, after months of home decor blogging I’m finally showing a small section of my bathroom. Of course it’s right before I’m moving haha. The lighting is absolutely terrible but I just couldn’t wait to share the most awesome bathroom sign from the Etsy shop Taylor Gourley Designs. I mean seriously “Rub-a-dub-dub“? How stinking cute! As soon as I saw this piece I knew it would be perfect for my new bathroom. Of course they sell more than just bathroom signs, they sell so many other amazing pieces with super cute quotes and sayings. The best part is that each sign comes in multiple sizes, prices and frame colors! This one sells for $70 which is a great price for such a large piece!! Keep an eye out to see how I style this stunning sign in my new farmhouse bathroom and make sure to check out Taylor Gourley Designs to get the perfect sign for your own home, enjoy.
Hello loves, who doesn’t love a good burlap print? It is the perfect addition to any awesome rustic or distressed frame! I also love the look of a burlap print in a gallery wall as opposed to a traditional picture like the one above. As you guys know this is my favorite little space in our bedroom and I was so excited to add this grateful and blessed print from the Etsy shop Peonies and Twine to it. They sell many more awesome rustic and farmhouse burlap prints at a great price. They range from $13.60 to $17 which is such an amazing deal! Click the read more link to check out some more of my favorite prints from Peonies and Twine and also make sure to keep an eye out for another post featuring this gorgeous print in the new place.
