AHHHHHHHHH. Sorry guys I’ll settle down but I’m just sooo excited to share a little about our very first Christmas tree. Since we bought our home back in May I have been dreaming about the moment I could get cozy by the glow of the tree while sipping hot cocoa in my pjs. Yes, I know that’s pretty specific but when you have wished for your own home for so long you start imagining all sorts of scenarios 🙂 And that was definitely top on my list. So when November came I knew I had start preparing (especially since the only thing we had was the tree). We were lucky enough to have been given this little beauty from a family member so that right there saved us a ton! As far as the base I had been seeing so many of my favorite Instagrammers using galvanized buckets or crates instead of the traditional tree skirt and I was so happy when ours fit into this bucket I already owned. I knew I wanted to add some garland so I cut out this burlap banner and strung some wooden beads that my mom was sweet enough to find for me. I was also so incredibly lucky to receive the majority of my ornaments from some amazing shops. These awesome antler ornaments are from House of Herringbone and I love how they give our tree a rustic-lodge type feel. I was also so excited when I got these super cute wood slice ornaments from The Family Roost. So the only pieces I had to buy for our tree were these little distressed deer and snowflake ornaments that I got at a local consignment store for $5, the red vintage garland that I got from Michaels for $20 and I scorned this rustic star tree topper at Tjmaxx for $10. And wallah, our perfect rustic Christmas tree for less than $35. I hope you guys love it as much as we do, enjoy!
